Not to confuses with Kabaddi that's played inside rectangular field, I'm here to discuss about the CIRCLE style kabaddi mostly played in Punjab.
Just briefly Rules Of Circle Style Kabaddi :-
Kabaddi is played between two teams for example team A and team B, it's played inside a circular ground which is halved such that one half become team A's territory while the other team B's.
7 players in each team, there are 4 stoppers/defenders and 3 raiders/attackers.
Kabaddi is amazing, i can't express how much i enjoy watching it, but i don't understand why it's not a popular sport, it got all the ingredients to be a top sport. Firstly, the players, they're larger than life, they're massive and charismatic just like wwe superstars and some even have cult like following. Secondly, the sport is to easy to understand, you won't be sitting and wondering what's happening, for instant if an american watches cricket for the first time they won't understand what going on, same-way if an Indian watches baseball or NFL they won't understand it either because these sports are complicated to understand, unlike soccer or basketball or even mma which are easy to understand that's why they are more popular worldwide. Thirdly, women's kabaddi is as fun to watch as men's or probably even more. Finally, kabaddi match only lasts for almost an hour, so you won't be investing much of your time watching it.
There're a lot of fans of kabaddi especially in north India and Pakistan however for them it's really hard to follow there favorite players because they play for a lot of different teams and in different countries as well as kabaddi doesn't get any T.V. coverage and most of the matches are organized in villages and the schedule is very random. The most frustrating thing for fans is that there is no proper league or competition. Sony Six in India started the World Kabaddi League in 2014 but it turned out to be a disaster, it was run by people who knew nothing about the sport and what fans wanted. The players uniforms were a joke, in some matches the mat was slippery making players look bad. The World Kabaddi League was not only ugly but also a blemish on the sport itself.
We need a multi-millionaire or a billionaire to save this sport. For Kabaddi to grow and become a popular sport it need to be organised (the organization that there are i don't even know why they exist). I think if we could make a league and if we can present it the way it should be there's no doubt in my mind that it would grow and grow fast. I've so many ideas in my brain but for that i would have to sit here for hours to type them down. The state of kabaddi is so annoying, watching these players highlight from a match at a village is not what i'm interested in I want to see them compete in actual competition.

The 4 stoppers defend there territory, One raider would enter there territory and have to touch one of the stoppers and leave with in 30 seconds. Only stopper that can stop the raider is the one who the raider touched and the other 3 would have no role in that raid(or play). Each team will send there raiders alternatively, for each successful raid you get one point and zero if you fail similarly for successful stop get one point and non if you fail to stop. There are 4 quarters each 10 minutes long.
